Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a country at the crossroads of south and southeast Europe, located in the Balkans. The capital and largest city is Sarajevo; in the south it has a narrow coast on the Adriatic Sea within the Mediterranean, which is about 20 kilometres (12 miles) long and surrounds the town of Neum. Bosnia and Herzegovina declared independence from socialist Yugoslavia on 1 March 1992. The main trading partners are Germany, Italy, Austria, Turkey and other neighboring Balkans countries.
