Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), is a country in East Asia. It constitutes the northern half of the Korean Peninsula. North Korea, like its southern counterpart, claims to be the legitimate government of the entire peninsula and adjacent Pyongyang is the capital. In 1910, Korea was annexed by the Empire of Japan. In 1945, after the Japanese surrender, Korea was divided into two zones along the 38th parallel, with the north occupied by USSR and USA in south.
Economy:
The economy of North Korea is a centrally planned economy, following Juche, where the role of market allocation schemes is limited, although increasing. As of 2021, North Korea continues its basic adherence to a centralized command economy.  There has been some economic liberalization, particularly after Kim Jong-un assumed the leadership in 2012, but reports conflict over particular legislation and enactment. Since the 1990s, informal market activity has increased
